Equipment Safety, Policy Statement
Aveiro Constructors Ltd. is committed to maintaining a healthy and safe workplace which is in full compliance with the
Occupational Health and Safety Act. The proper performance of tasks is one way to prevent injuries which could be long term.
The most common physical workplace risk factors manual materials handling, awkward posture, heavy physical work,
static work posture, whole body vibration, and repetitive movements. Ergonomics is the science of
designing machines,
products and systems to maximize the safety, comfort and efficiency of the people who use them. One of the primary goals of ergonomics
is the prevention of workplace illness and accidents.
Aveiro has taken the responsibility to ensure that each employee is trained in the proper use of tools and equipment. Each worker
must also be given the necessary instruction on how to perform the task properly without endangering oneself.
It is important that personal injury is reduced when operating heavy equipment, machines and vehicles on the jobsite. To prevent
injury is to maintain the correct position for the task, take recommended breaks, and follow safety
guidelines when operating machinery.
As outlined in Aveiro's equipment safety policy are some guidelines for workers and operators to follow for heavy equipment,
elevating work platforms/man lifts, crane/hoisting equipment, electrical safety, fire prevention/protection, welding and cutting, and hand/
power tools.
